NFO 3-1 MCI: Players Responsible for Man City Disappointing Defeat

According to a report by Flashscore on Saturday November 7, 2026, Manchester City suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest after struggling to recover from a poor first-half display.

Forest took a 2-0 lead through goals from Cunha and Liam Delap before Rayan Cherki pulled one back in the 52nd minute. However, Delap completed his brace in the 73rd minute to secure the victory for the hosts. Several City players failed to deliver convincing performances, with four particularly disappointing on the day.

1. Marc Guehi

Guehi endured a difficult afternoon as Manchester City's defence struggled to contain Forest's attacking threat. The defender was involved in the defensive unit that conceded twice before half-time. His side failed to prevent Cunha from taking advantage of a costly mistake in the sixth minute. Forest then doubled their advantage through Delap's excellent individual effort in the 18th minute. Guehi was subsequently replaced by Matheus Nunes at the interval after a disappointing first-half performance.

2. Jeremy Doku

Doku struggled to make his attacking contributions count against Forest. In the eighth minute, the winger received the ball inside the penalty area, but his attempted finish was blocked by a defender. He also failed to find a teammate with a pass into the box in the 14th minute. His biggest disappointment came in the 30th minute when an excellent low pass presented him with a promising opportunity, but he failed to control the ball properly. Forest's defence cleared the danger without difficulty.

3. Enzo Fernandez

Fernandez missed a significant opportunity to help City get back into the contest during the first half. In the 24th minute, Marc Guehi delivered an inviting cross into the penalty area, but the midfielder headed narrowly over the crossbar. His corner deliveries in the ninth and 42nd minutes also failed to produce a goal, as Forest comfortably cleared the danger. Although he remained involved after the break, his efforts could not prevent the defeat.

4. Erling Haaland

Haaland struggled to influence the contest despite receiving a promising opportunity before half-time. In the 41st minute, the striker collected an excellent pass inside the penalty area and attempted to find the net. However, a Forest defender blocked his effort, preventing City from reducing the deficit. He failed to make the desired impact as the visitors struggled to break down their opponents.
