According to a report by London Evening Standard on Friday November 6, 2026, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has been left out of England's latest squad by Thomas Tuchel despite undergoing medical assessments earlier this week.
The Three Lions manager has opted against selecting the 24-year-old for the upcoming Nations League fixtures against Croatia and Spain.
England's medical team conducted checks on Palmer as Tuchel considered whether the Chelsea star was fit enough to join the squad. However, the winger has ultimately missed out despite Chelsea insisting that he was available and ready to represent his country.
Palmer's omission comes after Tuchel previously expressed frustration over the player's repeated absences from international camps because of injuries. The England manager had warned him that he was missing too many opportunities to feature for his country.
Meanwhile, there are several notable additions to the latest squad. Jobe Bellingham has received his first senior England call-up, joining his older brother Jude in the national team. Fulham youngster Josh King has also earned his maiden invitation alongside Liverpool teenager Rio Ngumoha.
Djed Spence and Trent Alexander-Arnold have also been included, while Arsenal winger Noni Madueke has been overlooked. Declan Rice and Ben White return following their respective injury problems.
Manchester City's Phil Foden and Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo have once again been excluded. Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka are also unavailable because of injuries.
Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele retains his place despite Dean Henderson returning to action for Crystal Palace. Steele, King and Jobe Bellingham are the only uncapped players in the squad.
Harry Kane has also been selected following his recent new contract with Bayern Munich. The England captain could make history against Croatia next Thursday at Wembley. He needs one more appearance to become the country's most-capped men's international player, surpassing Peter Shilton's record of 125 appearances.
