According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Barcelona legend Gerard Piqué has backed his former club to secure an emphatic victory over Real Madrid in the upcoming El Clásico, predicting a 4-1 win for the Catalan side.
The highly anticipated encounter has generated considerable excitement as the two Spanish giants prepare to renew their historic rivalry. Piqué, who spent much of his playing career at Barcelona, has now shared his expectations for the showdown, expressing strong confidence in his former teammates’ club.
The former Spain international revealed his prediction in a TikTok video featuring comparisons between players from both sides. His choices largely favoured Barcelona, prompting attention given his well-known connection with the Catalan club.
Piqué picked Joan García over Thibaut Courtois and preferred Pedri to Federico Valverde. He also rated Lamine Yamal above Jude Bellingham, highlighting his belief in Barcelona’s attacking talent ahead of the crucial fixture.
Another notable selection saw Anthony Gordon placed ahead of Kylian Mbappé, a decision that further underlined the Barcelona legend’s preference for the players he believes could make a difference.
Piqué captioned his comparisons with the words, “Always objective,” seemingly making light of the potential bias behind his selections.
The former defender also recalled José Mourinho’s infamous visit to Camp Nou in 2010, when the Portuguese manager’s Inter Milan side suffered a memorable 5-0 defeat against Barcelona.
“The first time Mourinho went to the Camp Nou, he lost 5-0. I predict 4-1,” Piqué stated, drawing a comparison with that historic result while forecasting another comfortable Barcelona victory.
However, Barcelona have several concerns to address before the encounter. Hansi Flick’s side recently suffered their first defeat of the season against Paris Saint-Germain, while injuries have added to the manager’s selection difficulties.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have produced encouraging performances in domestic and European competition following the international break. Their recent displays will give them confidence as they prepare to face their biggest rivals.
With Kylian Mbappé and Yan Diomande reportedly delivering impressive performances, Madrid have attacking options capable of testing Barcelona’s defence throughout the match.
Despite Piqué’s confident prediction, the outcome remains uncertain as both teams prepare for one of the most closely watched fixtures in Spanish football. Barcelona will need to overcome their recent setbacks and deliver a strong performance if they are to match the former defender’s expectations.
