According to a report by Football Transfer on Tuesday November 3, 2026, Victor Ozhianvuna has formally informed Shamrock Rovers of his departure as he gets ready to join Arsenal in the upcoming January transfer window.
After turning eighteen in January, the Republic of Ireland U-18 international is tipped to join the Gunners. The deal to acquire his services was finalized in October 2025, with Arsenal agreeing to pay around €2 million.
Ozhianvuna, an Arsenal fan since he was a little boy, will join the club's Under-21 squad at the start of his career. In last year's 3-1 loss to Breidablik in the UEFA Conference League, he became the second-youngest player to do so, making history for Shamrock Rovers.
Before he announced his departure, the 17-year-old played 37 times for the Irish club's senior team, scoring once. He took to Instagram to thank everyone who had a role in his growth during his eleven years with Shamrock Rovers.
He released the following statement: "I'm saying goodbye to the club where I've made memories that I'll never forget" following eleven incredible years.
Ozhianvuna extended his gratitude to everyone who had been there for him during his tenure at the club, including his coaches, teammates, friends, relatives, and supporters. It had been tough for him to recuperate from his injury over the past few months, and he was disappointed to have missed out on playing time because of it.
The league title, though, and the trophy celebration with fans was the cherry on top of his career, he said. Even after his career ended, he would never forget the chance Shamrock Rovers gave him.
At the same time, Arsenal are planning to add to their youth signings in 2027. Holger and Edwin Quintero, twins from Ecuador, and Andria Bartishvili, a prospect from Georgia, are rumored to have signed with the club. Bartishvili is expected to join the team next summer.
These four young players will bolster Arsenal's youth program and have a shot at making Mikel Arteta's first team.
Arsenal are on the lookout for senior players, especially a left winger, in addition to youth prospects.
Even though Piero Hincapie and Ezri Konsa joined the defense in the summer, the acquisition of a striker may take precedence in the event that Viktor Gyokeres departs permanently.
