Villarreal striker Georges Mikautadze has indicated that he is ready to take the next step in his career amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.
According to a report by Metro on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the Georgia international believes he has the quality to join a bigger club after establishing himself in Spanish football.
The 26-year-old has experienced several moves during his career, having started his professional journey at Metz before securing a transfer to Ajax. However, his spell in the Netherlands did not go as planned, forcing him to return to the French club.
Mikautadze subsequently joined Lyon in 2024 before moving to Villarreal the following year.
He enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in Spain, scoring 15 goals across all competitions. The forward has continued his progress this season, recording five goals so far, including the opener in Villarreal's 4-3 Champions League defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on October 20.
His performances have attracted attention from several European clubs, with Tottenham and Newcastle previously linked with a potential move. Barcelona are also reportedly monitoring his situation.
Speaking about his ambitions, Mikautadze made it clear that he believes he is prepared for a move to a bigger side.
"I think I’m ready to go to a big club. I have everything I need and I try to show it every time. I just maybe need a little more time," he told L'Equipe.
The striker also addressed Barcelona's reported interest, admitting that the Spanish giants hold a special place in his heart because of their history.
"Yes, it’s flattering and it motivates me even more. It also means that the work is being done well," he said.
Mikautadze further revealed that he grew up supporting Barcelona, particularly during the period when Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets dominated midfield alongside Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
"As a child, ever since the Xavi-Iniesta-Busquets era and the MSN [Messi-Suarez-Neymar] trio, I’ve been a Barca supporter. But I hadn’t really thought about it."
His comments could attract further attention from Tottenham and Newcastle as both clubs assess potential attacking reinforcements.
However, Barcelona's reported admiration and Mikautadze's desire to join an elite European side could make the race for his signature an interesting transfer story ahead of 2027.
