According to a report by Sky Sports on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table after beating Hull City 1-0, while Manchester City suffered a 3-1 loss to Nottingham Forest.
The contrasting results have had a significant impact on the title race, with Arsenal taking advantage of City’s latest defeat to move further clear of their closest challengers.
Mikel Arteta’s men hosted Hull at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, aware that a victory would strengthen their position in the race for the Premier League title.
Although the visitors put up a strong defensive display, Arsenal eventually broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute through captain Martin Ødegaard, whose goal proved enough to secure all three points.
The result took the Gunners to 27 points from 10 matches, giving them a six-point cushion over Manchester City.
City, meanwhile, endured another difficult afternoon during their trip to Nottingham Forest. The hosts delivered an impressive performance, with Jair Cunha and Liam Delap scoring to give them an early advantage.
Rayan Cherki briefly reduced the deficit for Pep Guardiola’s side, but Delap found the net again to complete his brace and seal a memorable 3-1 victory for Forest.
The defeat leaves City with 21 points and six behind Arsenal, having now lost three consecutive Premier League matches.
Elsewhere, Leeds United claimed a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, courtesy of Noah Okafor’s decisive strike. The victory lifted Leeds above Spurs into eighth position.
Fulham and Newcastle United also settled for a share of the points after playing out a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage.
With Saturday’s fixtures concluded, Arsenal remain in a strong position at the top of the standings, while City must find a way to end their disappointing run if they are to close the gap.
However, the league table could still change before the weekend is over, with Chelsea, Liverpool, Brighton and Manchester United among the clubs scheduled to feature on Sunday, November 8.
