According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Fulham fought back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United in their Premier League clash at Craven Cottage.
The hosts managed to claim a share of the points after Rodrigo Muniz scored an equaliser to cancel out Jacob Murphy's second-half strike. The result also extended Fulham's encouraging form, leaving them with just one defeat in their last seven Premier League matches.
Fulham made a positive start to the encounter and came close to taking the lead through Oscar Bobb, whose curling attempt was denied by Newcastle goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek.
The Cottagers threatened once more from the resulting corner as Gonzalo Garcia met the delivery with a header, but his effort narrowly went over the crossbar.
Newcastle gradually grew into the game and nearly opened the scoring when Harvey Barnes connected with a low cross from Murphy. However, Bernd Leno reacted quickly and used his outstretched leg to make an important save and deny the winger.
The visitors appeared to have taken the lead through Dan Burn, who turned the ball into the net following a corner kick. However, their celebrations were cut short after the referee ruled out the goal because of an off-the-ball foul in the build-up.
Fulham continued to pose an attacking threat, with Josh King testing Hornicek through a powerful volley shortly before the half-time interval. The Newcastle goalkeeper was again on hand to prevent the hosts from finding the breakthrough.
Both sides resumed the contest after the break still searching for the opening goal. Barnes came close to putting Newcastle ahead but sent his curling effort wide, while Fulham also threatened through Sander Berge, whose low attempt narrowly missed the target.
Newcastle eventually took the lead when Murphy produced an impressive individual moment to beat Leno. After coming up against Alex Iwobi, the winger created space for himself before unleashing a powerful shot that found the back of the net.
However, Fulham responded quickly and restored parity just three minutes later. Substitute Rodrigo Muniz reacted to a deflected pass from Cesar Palacios and showed good improvisation inside the penalty area to guide the ball towards goal. His effort took a deflection off Burn before beating Hornicek and crossing the line.
The equaliser lifted the atmosphere at Craven Cottage and encouraged Fulham to push for another goal, while Newcastle were left searching for a response.
Lewis Hall had a late opportunity to put the visitors back in front, but his weak side-footed attempt was comfortably gathered by Leno. Neither team managed to find a decisive goal before the final whistle, ensuring the match ended level at 1-1.
The result means Fulham have suffered only one defeat in their last seven Premier League fixtures, while Newcastle's difficult run continues, with the Magpies managing just four points from their previous five league matches.
