According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Chelsea Women secured an emphatic 6-0 triumph over Charlton Athletic Women after delivering an impressive attacking performance in their Women's Super League encounter. Nathalie Björn, Ellie Carpenter, Melvine Malard, Aggie Beever-Jones and Giulia Dragoni were responsible for the goals that gave the Blues a memorable victory.
Chelsea wasted little time in demonstrating their superiority, putting Charlton under pressure from the beginning. The visitors took the lead in the third minute when Björn converted a corner delivered by Katie McCabe with a close-range header.
The Blues quickly increased their advantage as Malard scored in the 10th minute. Just three minutes later, Carpenter added another goal with a clinical finish inside the penalty area to make it 3-0.
Chelsea continued to exploit the weaknesses in Charlton's defence, and Malard completed her brace in the 19th minute after finding space inside the box. Her second goal gave the visitors a comfortable four-goal lead before the first half reached its conclusion.
Although Charlton attempted to reduce the deficit, Chelsea remained firmly in control. Goalkeeper Anna Koivunen made some important interventions to prevent the visitors from scoring even more goals. Meanwhile, Chelsea were forced into an early change when Lauren James picked up an injury in the 35th minute and was replaced by Erin Cuthbert.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Chelsea continuing to dominate possession and create dangerous opportunities. Matsukubo threatened to extend their advantage before Beever-Jones eventually made it 5-0 in the 57th minute. The forward finished from inside the box after receiving an excellent pass from Keira Walsh.
Chelsea's attacking strength remained evident following their substitutions, with Hamano, Dragoni and Thompson coming onto the pitch. Dragoni made an immediate impact by scoring the sixth goal in the 66th minute, finishing accurately into the bottom corner after Thompson provided the assist.
The visitors continued to search for additional goals, with Hamano seeing her effort strike the crossbar and Baltimore also hitting the post.
Charlton could not find a response despite their efforts to get back into the contest. Chelsea comfortably protected their advantage until the referee brought the match to an end.
The 6-0 result represents an impressive statement from Chelsea as they continue their campaign in the Women's Super League. Their convincing performance will also be important in the race for a stronger position on the league table.
