Barcelona Interested in Signing Highly Rated Brighton & Hove Albion Defender

According to TEAMtalk on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Barcelona are interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion defender Luka Vušković next summer, but they could face competition from Chelsea and Bayern Munich for the highly rated centre-back.

The 19-year-old has attracted attention from several major European clubs because of his potential and growing reputation as a promising young defender. Barcelona are reportedly monitoring his situation as they consider strengthening their defensive options ahead of the next summer transfer window.

However, securing his signature will not be straightforward, as Brighton have no plans to sell the talented centre-back. The Premier League club consider him an important part of their plans and are determined to retain his services despite the growing interest from potential suitors.

Vušković joined Brighton from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth up to £50 million, highlighting the significant investment involved in securing his services. His contract runs until 2031, placing the English club in a strong position to resist offers from interested teams.

Barcelona have been looking at ways to strengthen their squad as they continue competing for major honours in Spain and Europe. Signing a young defender could help the Catalan giants prepare for the future while providing additional quality and depth in their defensive department.

Nevertheless, Barcelona will not be the only club hoping to secure the defender's services. Chelsea are also reportedly interested in the teenager, meaning the Premier League rivals could compete for his signature if Brighton eventually become willing to negotiate.

Bayern Munich are another potential contender in the race. The German giants have previously tracked Vušković and remain interested in his situation. According to the report, the defender would also be open to a future move to Bayern Munich, which could make the Bundesliga club an attractive destination if he decides to leave Brighton.

His willingness to consider a move to Germany could give Bayern an advantage, although it does not mean that an agreement has been reached or that he has decided where he wants to play in the future.

For Barcelona and Chelsea, Brighton's determination to keep the player could represent the biggest obstacle. With his contract running until 2031, the English club have no immediate pressure to sell and can demand a substantial fee if their position changes.

For now, Brighton remain focused on retaining the centre-back, while Barcelona, Chelsea and Bayern Munich continue to be linked with his future.

The situation could develop further as the next summer transfer window approaches, but any interested club may need to present a convincing offer to persuade Brighton to consider selling one of their highly rated defensive prospects.
