According to a report by BBC Sport on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Galatasaray secured an important 2-0 victory over Stuttgart in their UEFA Champions League fixture, thanks to an outstanding first-half performance from Alexey Batrakov, who scored twice within the opening 15 minutes to give the Turkish side a comfortable advantage.
Galatasaray started the encounter with confidence, showing attacking intent and creating several dangerous opportunities. However, Stuttgart initially threatened to take control when Jamie Leweling met a cross inside the penalty area in the eighth minute. Unfortunately for the visitors, his attempt struck the left-hand post, allowing the home side to escape an early setback.
Galatasaray quickly punished Stuttgart for missing that opportunity. Batrakov opened the scoring in the 12th minute after reacting fastest to a loose ball inside the penalty area. The midfielder showed excellent composure to send the rebound into the top-right corner, putting his team ahead.
The Turkish side extended their advantage just three minutes later when Batrakov completed his brace. Davinson Sanchez delivered an excellent through ball that allowed the attacker to move beyond the goalkeeper before calmly placing his effort into the bottom-left corner. His quick double gave Galatasaray a significant advantage and left Stuttgart facing an uphill battle.
Stuttgart attempted to reduce the deficit before half-time, with Chris Fuhrich coming close after receiving a pass from Deniz Undav. However, his effort narrowly missed the target as Galatasaray maintained their two-goal lead going into the interval.
After the restart, Stuttgart returned with greater attacking determination and pushed forward in search of a comeback. Undav, Bilal El Khannouss and Fuhrich created dangerous situations, but goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir produced several impressive saves to keep his side ahead.
The visitors appeared to have found a breakthrough in the 75th minute when Fuhrich scored from outside the penalty area. However, a VAR review ruled out the effort for offside. During the same attacking spell, Undav also came close to scoring but saw his attempt strike the crossbar.
Despite Stuttgart's persistent pressure towards the closing stages, Galatasaray remained disciplined and organised at the back. Their defensive resilience ensured they protected their advantage until the final whistle, completing a valuable Champions League victory.
