According to a report by Football London on Friday, November 6, 2026, Roma are considering a January transfer move for Chelsea winger Jamie Gittens after making enquiries about his availability. Several European clubs, alongside four Premier League sides, are also keeping a close eye on the England international's situation.
The Italian club have identified Gittens as a potential alternative to Real Madrid youngster Endrick, whose signature is attracting growing interest from several clubs, including Arsenal and AC Milan, ahead of the January transfer window.
Roma are not alone in their pursuit, as Chelsea have indicated that they are open to allowing the 22-year-old to leave on loan. The winger needs regular first-team football after experiencing a difficult campaign at Stamford Bridge.
Although Chelsea are willing to consider a temporary departure, the Blues remain confident that Gittens has a long-term future at the club and have no intention of giving up on their investment in the former Borussia Dortmund player.
Chelsea paid £50million to sign Gittens in 2025, but persistent injury problems have hampered his progress. He is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury.
Roma believe a move to Italy could offer the winger the perfect opportunity to rebuild his confidence and rediscover the outstanding form he demonstrated during his previous spell in Germany.
Elsewhere, Bundesliga clubs RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt have also made enquiries about the Chelsea winger, with both sides exploring the possibility of bringing him back to Germany when the January transfer window opens.
Interest from the Premier League is also gathering momentum, with Leeds United and Sunderland monitoring developments, while Everton remain keen admirers. However, Everton's potential pursuit could depend on Jack Grealish's future at the club.
The Toffees currently expect Grealish to remain beyond January, meaning Gittens is not among their immediate priorities. Crystal Palace could also revive their interest depending on what happens with Axel Disasi's loan situation.
Chelsea's main objective is to find Gittens a suitable loan destination where he can enjoy regular playing time and continue developing. With several clubs already showing interest, the winger could have plenty of options when the January transfer window arrives.
