According to a report by Football London on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi during the January transfer window as uncertainty continues over Viktor Gyokeres’ future at the Emirates Stadium.
The 22-year-old Germany Under-21 international has attracted attention with his impressive performances, making him a potential option for Mikel Arteta as Arsenal consider strengthening their attacking department.
Tresoldi’s journey into professional football was shaped by his family’s circumstances. His father, Emanuele, revealed that his wife’s job in civil aviation required frequent travel, with Liverpool initially considered a possible destination before the family eventually settled in Germany.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Emanuele explained how their plans changed unexpectedly, leading the family to Hanover, where Tresoldi began developing his football career with Hannover 96.
Arsenal’s reported interest comes amid speculation that Gyokeres could consider leaving the club in January after struggling to establish himself as a regular starter under Arteta. The Gunners may therefore be exploring alternative attacking options ahead of the second half of the season.
The North London club already have a strong relationship with Club Brugge, having signed winger Christos Tzolis for £35 million during the summer transfer window. That connection could potentially help facilitate negotiations for Tresoldi.
The young striker has enjoyed an impressive campaign, recording nine goals in 12 appearances across all competitions, including four goals in two Champions League matches. His performances have strengthened his reputation as one of the emerging talents to watch in European football.
Among his notable contributions were goals against Aston Villa in September and during Club Brugge’s entertaining 4-3 Champions League victory over Inter Milan. These displays have reportedly increased Arsenal’s interest in securing his services.
Club Brugge previously turned down a £30 million offer from Roma during the summer, while subsequent reports suggest Tresoldi’s valuation has climbed to approximately £42 million ahead of the January transfer window.
However, Arsenal could face competition from AC Milan, who are also reportedly tracking the Germany Under-21 forward. The Italian club may have an advantage in the race, as Tresoldi has supported Milan since childhood, a factor that could influence his decision about his next career move.
