According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday October 21, 2026, Como head coach Cesc Fabregas has explained his reaction to his team's impressive 4-1 victory over Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Serie A side defeated the Premier League club at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, with Nico Paz scoring twice to help Como secure a convincing win.
Anastasios Douvikas and Jacobo Ramón also found the net for the hosts, while Joshua Zirkzee scored a late consolation goal for Manchester United.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the match, Fabregas praised his players for their performance but warned them against becoming complacent following the impressive result.
"The team played well this evening, but we need to keep our feet on the ground and remember there is another match coming up on Saturday," Fabregas said.
The former Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder was pleased with how his team performed against Manchester United, but insisted that their attention must quickly turn to their next fixture.
Como's four-goal performance demonstrated their attacking effectiveness, with Paz particularly influential as he scored twice against Michael Carrick's side.
Douvikas and Ramón also contributed goals to ensure that Como claimed all three points, leaving United with a disappointing defeat in their European campaign.
Fabregas also dedicated the victory to a member of the club's kit staff, although he did not reveal the reason behind the gesture.
"I want to dedicate the win to one of our kit staff, he knows why," the Como coach added.
The victory represents a significant result for Como, but Fabregas will want his players to maintain their concentration and build on their performance in the coming matches.
Meanwhile, the defeat has increased the pressure on Manchester United manager Michael Carrick, whose team conceded four goals despite scoring late in the contest.
United captain Bruno Fernandes also criticised the team's tactical approach after the match, arguing that the decision not to press Como man-to-man was the responsibility of Carrick and his coaching staff.
Como will now look to carry their confidence into Saturday's fixture, while Manchester United must find a way to respond to another disappointing result under Carrick.
