According to a report by Football London on Saturday November 7, 2026, Arsenal secured victory against Hull City on Saturday, but their performance was far from convincing, with Mikel Arteta’s players struggling to break down their stubborn opponents throughout the encounter.
The Gunners worked extremely hard to collect three points, producing little entertaining football. While several players struggled, Christos Tzolis attracted particular criticism after another disappointing appearance, raising questions about his recent performances.
The winger initially impressed following his arrival at Arsenal, but supporters believe his influence has declined considerably. Fans on social media expressed frustration, questioning his pace, confidence and overall contribution against Hull.
Arsenal supporters were particularly unhappy with Tzolis’s performance, with one fan delivering a brutal assessment: “Can’t stress enough how awful Tzolis has been. Almost like he’s doing this on purpose.”
Another supporter compared him unfavourably with former Arsenal winger Willian, describing Tzolis as “our worst winger since Willian.” Such criticism highlights growing concerns about his performances and whether he can regain his earlier impressive form.
His statistics against Hull also reflected his struggles. Tzolis played 68 minutes, managed only one key pass, completed zero successful dribbles and recorded 77.8 per cent passing accuracy during his appearance.
He attempted four crosses without completing any, registered just 35 touches and lost possession once. Although opponents fouled him five times, his overall attacking contribution remained disappointing throughout the afternoon.
Another supporter questioned his physical condition, writing: “Tzolis is like an old dog that can’t run anymore.” Others argued that Arsenal made a mistake signing him after missing their preferred transfer targets.
The criticism also exposes Arsenal’s wider problems on the left flank. Having sold Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard during the summer, Arteta currently has limited options available for rotation.
Consequently, Arsenal could consider recruiting another left winger during January, especially if Tzolis continues struggling. His performances must improve considerably if he hopes to silence critics and establish himself within Arteta’s plans.
