Alan Shearer Predicts Chelsea vs Tottenham, Arsenal vs Everton and Man United vs Bournemouth

According to a report by Metro on Friday, October 23, 2026, former England striker Alan Shearer has tipped Chelsea to defeat Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge this weekend. He has also predicted wins for Arsenal and Manchester City in their respective Premier League matches.

Shearer believes Chelsea's recent progress under manager Xabi Alonso could help them overcome their London rivals and secure all three points. He particularly praised midfielder Moises Caicedo for his impressive performances, explaining that the Ecuadorian international has improved the team's midfield strength and overall balance, especially when playing alongside Jordan Henderson.

"I was impressed with Caicedo. Chelsea are looking a more well-rounded team and I think Caicedo’s played a huge part in that, he’s made the difference," Shearer said, highlighting the midfielder's growing importance to Chelsea's performances.

Although Tottenham have recorded some encouraging results recently, Shearer remains unconvinced by the quality of their overall performances. He expressed his delight at James Maddison's return from injury and praised the midfielder for scoring after making his comeback. He also mentioned Dejan Kulusevski's return to action in the closing minutes and the warm reception he received from the supporters.

"Spurs did all right. Great to see Maddison back and scoring a goal. Kulusevski came back in for the last few minutes, got a good reception. I still didn’t think they played great, despite getting a good result. So, I’m going to go Chelsea home win."

Turning his attention to Arsenal's clash with Everton, Shearer expects the visitors to defend deep and attempt to frustrate Mikel Arteta's side. Nevertheless, he believes Arsenal possess sufficient attacking quality to break down Everton's defence and emerge victorious. However, concerns remain over Bukayo Saka's availability following an apparent thigh injury.

Shearer has also backed Manchester City to defeat Aston Villa. While acknowledging the excellent work Unai Emery has done since taking charge of Villa, he expects Pep Guardiola's team to demonstrate their superiority and claim all three points.

Meanwhile, the former England international anticipates a draw between Liverpool and Brighton, citing Brighton's attacking capabilities and Liverpool's defensive problems. He also predicts that Manchester United will share the points with Bournemouth, a result that could intensify the pressure on manager Michael Carrick.

In other fixtures, Shearer expects Newcastle United to beat Crystal Palace, Brentford to defeat Hull City and Leeds United to overcome Sunderland. He has predicted draws in the matches between Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest, as well as Coventry City and Fulham.

Shearer's predictions offer an indication of how this weekend's Premier League fixtures could unfold, with several clubs facing difficult challenges as the season progresses.
