According to a report by Football London on Monday October 26, 2026, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has called up six additional Hale End academy players to train with the first team ahead of the club's Carabao Cup clash against Fleetwood Town.
The Gunners are preparing for Tuesday night's encounter as Arteta looks to guide his side towards the trophy after losing to Manchester City in last season's final at Wembley Stadium.
According to Football London, Andre Harriman-Annous, Ceadach O'Neill, Marcell Washington, Theo Julienne, Igor Tyjon and Ife Ibrahim were all involved in first-team training at the Sobha Realty Training Ground.
The six youngsters joined Max Dowman and Marli Salmon, who had already been involved with the senior squad, as Arteta assessed his options ahead of the cup fixture.
However, not all the academy players are expected to feature against Fleetwood, with Arsenal's under-21 side scheduled to face AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Trophy. The match is important for the young Gunners as they look to secure qualification for the knockout stages.
Arteta is expected to make changes to his starting lineup for the Fleetwood encounter, although Arsenal will still be keen to approach the match seriously. The Premier League champions will be favourites against the League Two side, but Fleetwood manager Matt Lawlor has urged his players to embrace the occasion without fear.
Meanwhile, the latest training session raised questions about the availability of two senior Arsenal defenders, Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori.
Gabriel was absent from the training photographs released ahead of the match. Although the Brazilian did not appear to suffer an injury during Arsenal's recent victory over Everton, his absence could indicate that Arteta is managing his workload ahead of a busy schedule.
Calafiori was also missing after experiencing a minor issue during the Everton match. Arteta previously confirmed that the Italian defender had picked up a slight problem, although the exact nature and severity remained unclear.
The defender had started Arsenal's previous seven Premier League matches before being left out of the starting lineup against Everton. He later came on as a substitute but appeared to experience discomfort before the final whistle.
Arsenal will continue to assess his condition before determining whether he can participate against Fleetwood.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the two defenders, the training session appeared to be conducted in positive spirits. Declan Rice and Bruno Guimaraes were among those enjoying a light-hearted football-beachball game alongside academy players Harriman-Annous and O'Neill.
Arteta's decision to involve more Hale End prospects highlights the opportunities available to Arsenal's young players as they look to impress the first-team coaching staff.
