According to a report by Football London on Friday, October 23, 2026, Chelsea are getting ready for Saturday’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur, with Xabi Alonso’s team aiming to secure their third consecutive Premier League victory after beating Bournemouth and Everton.
The Blues boosted their confidence with an emphatic 5-1 win over Bournemouth before recording a 2-0 victory against Everton last weekend. Those results have strengthened their momentum ahead of the upcoming London derby against Tottenham.
Chelsea fans will be hoping Alonso sticks with the winning approach, although at least one change is expected because Emiliano Martínez remains sidelined with a fractured jaw.
Mike Penders is consequently expected to start between the posts, while Alonso continues to assess his options in other areas of the team following Chelsea’s recent performances.
In defence, Chelsea could line up with Josh Acheampong, Maxence Lacroix and Levi Colwill forming a back three after the side kept a clean sheet against Everton.
The shutout was an important achievement for Alonso’s team, as it marked Chelsea’s first Premier League clean sheet in nine months and offered encouragement regarding their defensive improvement.
Pedro Neto is expected to keep his place on the right flank after scoring twice against Everton, while Jorrel Hato could continue operating on the opposite side.
Hato impressed in his previous outing after entering the starting lineup because Pep Chavarría was unavailable through injury. His performance may convince Alonso to give him another opportunity against Tottenham.
The midfield selection is another major decision facing the Chelsea manager, with Moisés Caicedo and Jordan Henderson building an encouraging partnership during the team’s recent victories.
Romeo Lavia is also available again and has generally delivered good performances against Tottenham, giving Alonso another option as he considers his midfield combination.
Nevertheless, Caicedo and Henderson are expected to retain their places in the starting eleven, while Lavia could be introduced during the match.
Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers are tipped to play in the attacking positions behind the central striker, meaning Estevão could miss out despite the competition for places in Chelsea’s forward line.
João Pedro is expected to lead the attack as he looks to score his sixth Premier League goal of the season when Chelsea face Tottenham on Saturday.
Predicted Chelsea XI (3-4-2-1): Penders; Acheampong, Lacroix, Colwill; Neto, Caicedo, Henderson, Hato; Palmer, Rogers; Pedro.
