Real Madrid are expected to make several key selections when they travel to face Racing Santander in LaLiga on Sunday, November 1, with Jose Mourinho targeting another victory after the club’s impressive El Clasico triumph.
According to a report by ESPN on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Los Blancos will be looking to build on their 2-1 win over Barcelona and maintain their push towards the top of the league standings.
Mourinho could opt for a 4-4-2 formation, with Andriy Lunin expected to start between the posts.
Federico Valverde could occupy the right-back position, while Ibrahima Konate and Dean Huijsen are tipped to partner in central defence. Marc Cucurella is expected to complete the back four at left-back as Madrid seek to limit Racing Santander’s attacking threat.
In midfield, Arda Guler could operate on the right, using his creativity and passing ability to provide attacking support. Aurelien Tchouameni is likely to take up a more defensive role, helping to protect the backline and maintain balance in the middle of the pitch.
Bernardo Silva could also feature, bringing his experience and technical quality to Madrid’s midfield, while Jude Bellingham is expected to contribute further forward with his movement and ability to arrive in dangerous attacking positions.
Kylian Mbappe is tipped to lead the attack alongside Yan Diomande. Mbappe’s pace and clinical finishing could pose problems for the hosts, while Diomande will be expected to complement the Frenchman by creating opportunities and making intelligent runs.
Predicted Real Madrid XI (4-4-2):
Lunin; Valverde, Konate, Huijsen, Cucurella; Guler, Tchouameni, Bernardo Silva, Bellingham; Mbappe, Diomande.
Madrid will approach the fixture knowing that three points could strengthen their position in the title race. However, Mourinho’s side must remain focused, as Racing Santander will be determined to take advantage of playing at home and frustrate the visitors.
