According to Punch News report Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 982nd career goal as Al-Nassr beat Al-Faisaly 3–1 in the Saudi Pro League on Friday, leaving him 18 goals short of the 1,000-goal mark.
The 41-year-old headed in a cross from fellow Portuguese player João Félix in the 49th minute, doubling Al-Nassr’s advantage. The visitors had opened the scoring in the fourth minute when Abdullah Al-Hamdan struck from long range.
Ronaldo appeared to score again soon after, but a VAR review ruled out the goal for offside. Al-Faisaly pulled one back in the 66th minute through Théo Bongonda’s header, before Brazilian forward Ângelo Gabriel restored Al-Nassr’s two-goal lead in the 79th minute to secure the win.
The victory extended Al-Nassr’s winning streak and kept the club in the Saudi Pro League title race.
Ronaldo’s latest strike brings his official total for club and country to 982. He has often spoken of his desire to reach 1,000 career goals, and his continued scoring since joining Al-Nassr in December 2022 has kept him at the heart of the team’s attack.
His pursuit of the milestone has drawn worldwide interest, with each goal bringing him closer to the landmark. Al-Nassr will aim to maintain its momentum as the league season continues, while Ronaldo looks to add to his remarkable tally.
