BRA 1-3 NGA: Flamingos Make History With Convincing Victory Over Brazil to Reach World Cup Final

According to a report by Flashscore on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Nigeria's Flamingos have qualified for the final of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2026 after recording a convincing 3-1 victory over Brazil in their semi-final encounter.

The Nigerian team delivered an outstanding performance at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat to secure a historic place in the final of the competition for the first time.

Both teams struggled to break the deadlock in the opening 45 minutes despite creating several goalscoring opportunities.

Nigeria showed attacking ambition, with Queen Joseph, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, Oluebube Umejiaku, Mary Akpan Dunstan, Kanyinsola Yusuf and Favour Nkwocha among the players who tested Brazil's defence and goalkeeper.

However, the South Americans also created opportunities of their own, and the contest remained goalless at half-time.

The Flamingos returned for the second half with renewed determination and eventually took the lead in the 56th minute through Queen Joseph.

The forward found the back of the net to put Nigeria 1-0 ahead, giving the African side the breakthrough they had been searching for throughout the first half.

Nigeria continued to press forward and were rewarded with another goal in the 71st minute when Awawu Bashiru doubled their advantage.

Bashiru's strike gave the Flamingos greater control of the contest, leaving Brazil with a difficult task as they attempted to recover from the two-goal deficit.

The Nigerian forward struck again in the 80th minute to complete her brace and extend the advantage to 3-0, putting the Flamingos firmly on course for the final.

Brazil managed to reduce the deficit in the 89th minute through Greise Kelly, but the late goal could not change the outcome as Nigeria secured a memorable 3-1 victory.

The result sends the Flamingos into their first-ever FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup final, marking a historic achievement for Nigerian women's football.

Nigeria will face Japan in Saturday's final, with the opportunity to win the country's first title in the history of the competition.
