According to a report by Football London on Sunday, 1 November 2026, Romeo Lavia received widespread praise from his Chelsea teammates after producing an impressive performance in their 2-0 Premier League victory over Manchester United on Saturday.

Several Chelsea players took to Instagram to applaud the Belgian midfielder following his influential display at Stamford Bridge.

Lavia played a crucial role as Xabi Alonso's side returned to winning ways after their disappointing defeat to Tottenham Hotspur the previous weekend.

The midfielder was particularly influential in the build-up to Chelsea's opening goal, winning possession before releasing Morgan Rogers, who produced an excellent finish to put the hosts ahead shortly after half-time.

Palmer later converted a penalty to secure the victory and give Chelsea three important points.

Lavia's performance was another encouraging development for Alonso, especially considering the midfielder's difficult injury history since arriving at Stamford Bridge.

After featuring for the full 90 minutes against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup during the week, the Belgian completed another full match against Manchester United.

His growing availability could prove important for Chelsea as they look to maintain consistency across domestic competitions.

Several teammates also recognised his contribution on social media. Estevao Willian described his performance as "So good", while Moises Caicedo responded with "World class". Josh Acheampong also joined the praise, writing "too good".

Lavia's influence was evident in both departments of the game. According to Sofascore, he recorded more defensive contributions than any other Chelsea player, winning four of the five tackles he attempted.

The 22-year-old also demonstrated his quality in possession, regularly carrying the ball forward and helping Chelsea move from defence into attack.

His ability to combine defensive discipline with progressive passing made him particularly effective against Manchester United.

For Alonso, Lavia's latest performance offers further encouragement as he looks to build a reliable midfield partnership.
