According to a report by Football London on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Arsenal have reportedly initiated contact over potential moves for Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder Can Uzun and Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi as sporting director Andrea Berta continues searching for reinforcements for Mikel Arteta’s squad.
The Gunners made significant changes to their left-wing options during the summer, selling Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard for a combined £77 million before bringing in Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for £34 million.
Although Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze can also operate on the left, both players are believed to be more suited to other positions. This has reportedly encouraged Arteta to consider another attacking option who could compete with Tzolis for a regular starting place.
Arsenal previously explored moves for Morgan Rogers and Vinícius Júnior but were unable to complete either deal. The club have since turned their attention towards alternative targets as they plan for upcoming transfer windows.
According to CaughtOffside, Uzun has emerged as a player of interest after an impressive start to the season with Frankfurt. The Turkish international has registered four goals and three assists in six appearances, attracting attention from several clubs.
Arsenal are reportedly among the teams considering a move for the 20-year-old next year. Reports also suggest that the North London club have made initial contact with his representatives at agency 11WINS, which also represents Tresoldi.
However, the Gunners are not alone in their pursuit of Uzun, with Aston Villa, Everton, Brighton, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund also reportedly interested.
Frankfurt were said to have been willing to consider offers of around £34 million during the summer, but their valuation has increased following the midfielder’s recent performances. The German club are now reportedly pointing interested sides towards his €60 million release clause, which has also been reported at approximately £50 million.
A source familiar with the situation said: “Arsenal have had some initial contacts about Can Uzun. I can’t say for sure if he’s at the top of their list, but they like him and they’re not alone in that.”
Arsenal are also assessing the possibility of signing Tresoldi, who has enjoyed a productive campaign with Club Brugge, scoring nine goals in 13 appearances.
The Belgian club reportedly rejected a £30 million offer from Roma in August and currently value the Germany Under-21 international at approximately £42 million.
However, Club Brugge are understood to be reluctant to sell the striker during the January transfer window, meaning Arsenal may have to wait until next summer if they decide to pursue the deal.
Should Tresoldi leave for £42 million, the transfer would reportedly set a new record for the most expensive departure in Belgian club football, surpassing Tzolis’ £34 million move to Arsenal.
A potential double deal for Uzun and Tresoldi could cost the Gunners around £92 million, highlighting the scale of their reported interest in strengthening their attacking options.
