According to a report by Barca Universal on Tuesday November 3, 2026, despite Gavi's mounting dissatisfaction with his lack of playing time under Hansi Flick, Barcelona supposedly ruled out the prospect of his leaving the club during the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old midfielder has no plans to ignore offers from other clubs and is hell-bent on making it big at Camp Nou.
Reports from SPORT state that the player and Barcelona are both keen on maintaining their relationship. Despite reports that multiple clubs have inquired about his situation, Gavi has no plans to leave anytime soon or even consider a transfer next summer.
The Spanish midfielder has struggled to get regular playing time due to the high level of competition in Barcelona's midfield. He has always shown a strong desire to compete and contribute, so his reduced involvement is understandably frustrating.
Gavi is optimistic that things can get better for him as the season continues. Because Barcelona is in so many tournaments, he thinks he will have more chances to show what he can do and get back into the starting lineup.
But he's been mentally challenged by his current situation. For the midfielder's development and self-assurance, regular playing time is paramount if he is to continue being a valuable member of the squad.
Barça has no intention of letting him go, even though he has played very little minutes. Flick still sees the academy grad as a key cog in his current and future athletic endeavors.
The coaching staff does not seem to have lost faith in him, but rather believes that his inconsistent participation is due to competition for spots. Gavi is having trouble breaking into the starting lineup because Flick seems to favor other midfielders over him.
However, there has been no indication from the manager that the 22-year-old is no longer required. Gavi is just as committed to staying with the club and proving himself worthy of more playing time as Barcelona is about his significance.
