According to a report by Madrid Universal on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho and summer signing Yan Diomande have earned nominations for La Liga's October monthly awards following their outstanding contributions to the club during the month.

Mourinho has been shortlisted for the Coach of the Month award, while Diomande is among the nominees for the U23 Player of the Month category. Their nominations reflect Real Madrid's impressive run of results and the individual performances that helped the Spanish giants enjoy a successful October campaign.

Real Madrid recorded three consecutive victories in the league, defeating Villarreal, Sevilla and Barcelona. The team began the month with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Villarreal before delivering a convincing 4-1 triumph over Sevilla.

However, their most significant achievement came during last weekend's El Clasico encounter against Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou. Mourinho's men secured an important 2-1 victory, bringing Barcelona's winning streak to an end and reducing their lead at the top of the La Liga standings to just three points.

Mourinho's tactical decisions and management during the high-profile encounter attracted considerable attention. His impressive work has placed him among the leading candidates for the monthly coaching award. However, he faces competition from Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone and Real Sociedad coach Pellegrino Matarazzo.

Meanwhile, Diomande has continued to attract attention following his €140 million move to Real Madrid during the summer transfer window. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international has demonstrated his attacking qualities and growing importance to the team.

He made an immediate impact by scoring the decisive goal against Villarreal before producing another impressive performance against Sevilla, where he contributed a goal and an assist in the 4-1 victory.

The young forward also delivered a notable display against Barcelona, strengthening his chances of securing the U23 Player of the Month recognition.

Diomande will compete with Villarreal's Alex Freeman, Real Sociedad's Jon Martin, Malaga's Adrian Nino and Elche's Roy Revivo for the award.

Additionally, Kylian Mbappe has already received a nomination for La Liga's Player of the Month award for October. This means Real Madrid have three representatives competing for individual recognition, underlining the club's impressive form and the growing influence of its players under Mourinho's leadership.
