According to a report by Madrid Universal on Wednesday October 28, 2026, La Liga has reported 17 incidents from Sunday’s El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid to the Spanish Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission.
The complaints include offensive chants, objects thrown onto the pitch and an alleged assault on Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga during celebrations following Kylian Mbappe’s goal.
Real Madrid strengthened their position in the La Liga title race with a 2-1 victory over Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou. However, the match was overshadowed by several incidents involving supporters from both clubs.
According to La Liga’s official report, ten of the 17 incidents involved Barcelona supporters. These included offensive chants targeting Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella, former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, the Madrid team and its supporters.
Sections of the home crowd reportedly chanted an insulting song about Cucurella on two separate occasions. Other supporters also directed offensive remarks towards Mourinho and Real Madrid.
More seriously, several objects were thrown towards the pitch after Mbappe scored his second goal. The items reportedly included bottles, cans, lighters and a vaping device.
Although none of the objects hit Madrid’s players, the referee temporarily halted proceedings for one minute and 20 seconds. A stadium announcement subsequently urged supporters to stop throwing objects.
La Liga also confirmed that a Barcelona supporter from the Grada Gol 1957 section struck Camavinga with a flag during the celebrations. Barcelona’s security personnel identified the individual, and the club is preparing to expel the supporter under its internal regulations.
Meanwhile, the remaining seven incidents involved travelling Real Madrid supporters who repeatedly directed an offensive chant towards Barcelona.
La Liga clarified that the misconduct involving Barcelona supporters was concentrated in specific stadium sections, while other home fans behaved appropriately.
The disciplinary bodies will now examine the reported incidents and determine whether sanctions are necessary. Despite Madrid’s important victory and the reduction of Barcelona’s lead to three points, the incidents have raised serious concerns about spectator behaviour and player safety.
