Back
According to a report by Barca Universal on Tuesday October 27, 2026, Pedro Porro, a right back for Tottenham Hotspur, is a target for Barcelona, but the Catalan club may be reluctant to part with him due to his long-term contract.
The Spanish defender is reportedly still being considered by Barcelona as Hansi Flick searches for ways to bolster his team's defense.
In an effort to bolster the quality and depth of their squad, the Catalan giants are looking into the transfer market to acquire a specialized right back. Barcelona are keeping an eye on possible replacements, even though Eric Garcia has adjusted to the role and given Flick a choice.
With his offensive skills and background, Porro has become a popular choice for the position. The recruiting staff at Barcelona have taken notice of his performances as well.
The 26-year-old has shown, while playing for Spain, that he can form a strong right flank combination with Lamine Yamal. Barcelona would have to overcome substantial hurdles to finalize a deal, but their mutual understanding could make a club level reunion attractive.
Barcelona faces its greatest obstacle in the form of Tottenham's contractual obligations. The London club just received word that Porro had extended his contract until 2031, with an additional year's option. As a result, the Spurs are in a strong position to negotiate a high transfer fee should they decide to sell him.
Roberto De Zerbi, the manager, and the defender have a close friendship. While the club was going through a rough patch, Porro remained a pillar of support for the Italian coach and was widely considered an important member of the locker room.
After escaping the relegation zone, Tottenham have lately demonstrated indications of progress. With each step they take toward stability, the idea of losing a key player becomes less appealing. So, even though Barcelona is interested, Spurs will not let Porro leave.
Nevertheless, Jules Kounde's departure could make Barcelona's pursuit more pressing. Garcia's adaptability gives Flick some leeway, but the club may have to reevaluate its transfer priorities if they lose another defensive option.
