Barcelona Could Face Disciplinary Action After Alleged Assault on Real Madrid Star During El Clasico

According to a report by Barca Universal on Tuesday October 27, 2026, after Sunday's El Clasico match, Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga was allegedly involved in an incident that could lead to disciplinary action against Barcelona.

This has been a rough week for the Catalan club, as they lost both the Champions League and La Liga matches against Real Madrid. Worries regarding their recent performances have been heightened by their most recent defeat.

La Liga will reportedly send the Camavinga assault case to the Spanish Football Federation's disciplinary committee for additional investigation, as reported by The Athletic.

Reportedly, the incident occurred soon after Real Madrid's winning goal, which Kylian Mbappe scored with an assist from Camavinga. One spectator even went so far as to swing a flagpole in the direction of the French midfielder as they reveled close to the Barcelona fans.

Swiftly stepping in to defuse the situation, Camavinga's teammates escorted him away from the stands. Juan Martinez Munuera, the official report's author, also included specifics regarding the disturbances.

The Madrid player was also allegedly unharmed by the crowd's hurled water bottle and Coca-Cola can. An announcement was made at the stadium and there was a short interruption that lasted for a few minutes because of the incident.

After reviewing the footage and evidence, the appropriate disciplinary authorities will decide whether punishment is necessary after La Liga submits the case to them.

In the midst of a difficult stretch of the season, when Barcelona are already dealing with disappointing results, injury worries, and increasing pressure, this development adds yet another unwanted distraction.

As a result of the loss, Barcelona's remarkable winning streak in La Liga came to an end. As a result of Real Madrid's efforts, the two teams are now separated at the top of the league by a mere three points.

Aggressive behavior toward players is never justified, even though emotions tend to run high during El Clasico encounters. But you can't generalize about Barcelona fans based on the behavior of a few.

If the incident warrants sanctions against the club, the disciplinary investigation will decide. As they seek to put the controversy behind them and concentrate on their upcoming matches, Barcelona will hope that any possible punishment is minimal.
