Premier League Table After Arsenal Won 1-0

According to a report by BBC Sport on Monday, November 2, 2026, Arsenal strengthened their position in the Premier League title race after recording a narrow 1-0 victory over Liverpool on Sunday. Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the encounter, allowing Mikel Arteta's men to secure three valuable points in a difficult away fixture at Anfield.

Arsenal made an impressive start to the match and took the lead in the 16th minute. Declan Rice delivered an excellent pass into Liverpool's penalty area, where Havertz positioned himself perfectly to finish from close range and put the visitors ahead.

Liverpool immediately attempted to respond, increasing their attacking pressure through Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Florian Wirtz. However, Arsenal's defenders remained organised and dealt effectively with the home side's attacking threats.

Liverpool nearly found an equaliser in the 39th minute when Wirtz's free-kick struck the crossbar. Alexis Mac Allister also missed a promising headed opportunity as the hosts failed to take advantage of their chances before halftime.

Arsenal also created opportunities to extend their lead, with Declan Rice and Bruno Guimaraes attempting to get on the scoresheet. Nevertheless, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker prevented further damage with important saves.

Following the restart, Liverpool enjoyed more possession and continued searching for a way back into the contest. Arsenal, however, maintained their defensive discipline, making it difficult for the hosts to create clear scoring opportunities.

Christos Tzolis came close to doubling Arsenal's advantage in the 73rd minute, but Alisson produced an excellent save to deny him. Liverpool also introduced additional attacking options, including Rio Ngumoha, in an attempt to change the outcome.

Despite the late pressure, Arsenal held firm until the final whistle, securing an important victory at Anfield.

The result provides Arsenal with a significant boost in their Premier League campaign. Their ability to defend a narrow advantage against a determined Liverpool side could prove valuable as the competition for the league title continues.
