NGA Vs BRA: Nigeria Confirmed Starting Lineup To Face Brazil

According to a report by ESPN on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Nigeria's Flamingos have confirmed their starting lineup for their FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup semi-final encounter against Brazil in Morocco.

Head coach Akeem Busari has made one adjustment to the team that secured a quarter-final victory over Venezuela, bringing Awawu Bashiru into the starting eleven in place of Tosin Rafiu, who has been relegated to the bench due to a minor injury.

The remaining ten players who started against Venezuela have retained their places as Nigeria prepare for the crucial showdown with Brazil.

Jane Ijirigho will occupy the goalkeeping position, while captain Azeezat Oduntan will marshal the defence alongside Ohunene Sunday, Esther Stephen and Kanyinsola Yusuf.

In midfield, Mary Dunstan and Favour Nkwocha will continue in their respective roles, with Bashiru completing the trio. The midfielders will be expected to play an important role in competing against Brazil and helping Nigeria dictate the pace of the encounter.

Queen Joseph, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Oluebube Umejiaku have been selected to lead the attack as the Flamingos look to break down the Brazilian defence.

Nigeria's confirmed starting eleven is Jane Ijirigho, Azeezat Oduntan (captain), Ohunene Sunday, Esther Stephen, Kanyinsola Yusuf, Mary Dunstan, Favour Nkwocha, Awawu Bashiru, Queen Joseph, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Oluebube Umejiaku.

Meanwhile, Brazil have also announced their lineup for the semi-final, with head coach Rilany Silva opting to retain the same starting eleven that defeated China PR 2-1 in the quarter-finals.

The Brazilian side will feature Nathy, Isa Rech, Yasmin Queiroz, captain Andreyna, Sarah Coelho, Marcela Bontorim, Carol Melo, Helena, Pepe, Sofia Gamonal and Greise Kelly.

The meeting represents a significant opportunity for both nations, although Nigeria will be particularly motivated by the prospect of reaching the final of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup for the first time in their history.

The Flamingos secured their place in the last four after recording a narrow 1-0 win over Venezuela, with captain Azeezat Oduntan scoring a decisive penalty in the 89th minute. Brazil, on the other hand, booked their semi-final spot after recovering from a goal down to defeat China PR 2-1.

The highly anticipated encounter is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Pitch 3 of the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat, Morocco. Kick-off is set for 7:00 PM Nigerian time.

Nigeria will now be aiming to deliver another strong performance against Brazil and secure a historic place in the tournament's final.
