EPL Table After Yesterday's Result

According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, November 1, 2026, the English Premier League table has witnessed significant changes following Saturday's matches, with Chelsea, Brighton, Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth and Brentford recording important victories.

Manchester United suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The result leaves Michael Carrick's side in 17th position with seven points from nine matches, increasing the pressure on the manager.

Chelsea moved into fourth place with 16 points after securing their fifth league victory of the campaign. Brighton also enjoyed an impressive afternoon after defeating Manchester City 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium. The victory took them to third position with 19 points.

Manchester City remain at the top of the Premier League table with 21 points, level with second-placed Arsenal, who have played one game fewer. Arsenal could take advantage of Sunday's meeting with Liverpool to move ahead of City.

Tottenham Hotspur climbed to eighth position after defeating Crystal Palace 2-0, while Bournemouth moved into seventh place following their 2-0 victory over Leeds United. Brentford also strengthened their position in sixth place with a 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa and Fulham shared the points after playing out a 1-1 draw. Hull City and Ipswich Town also settled for a 2-2 draw, while Coventry City defeated Sunderland 3-1.

At the other end of the table, Crystal Palace are 18th with seven points, Nottingham Forest occupy 19th place with six points, while Sunderland remain bottom with five points. Manchester United are just above the relegation zone in 17th position.

The latest results have also increased the competition among clubs hoping to secure European qualification, with only a few points separating several teams in the middle of the table.

Attention now turns to Sunday's encounter between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield. Arsenal will be determined to secure all three points and strengthen their title ambitions, while Liverpool will be hoping to improve their position.

For Manchester United, the immediate priority is returning to winning ways and moving further away from the relegation zone. Michael Carrick's team will have another opportunity to respond when they face Aston Villa in their next Premier League fixture.

With the season still developing, Saturday's results have provided another reminder of how quickly fortunes can change in the Premier League.
