According to a report by BBC Sport on Thursday, October 22, 2026, the UEFA Champions League witnessed another exciting round of fixtures as Manchester United suffered a disappointing 4-1 defeat against Como, Arsenal battled to a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich, while Real Madrid recorded an impressive 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig.

The results have added another dimension to the competition, with several European clubs fighting to strengthen their positions in the league-phase standings.

Manchester United endured a difficult evening against Como, who produced an outstanding attacking performance to secure all three points.

The Italian side made an excellent start when Nico Paz broke the deadlock in the second minute with a powerful effort that found the top corner.

United attempted to recover, but their defensive weaknesses became more evident after the interval. Anastasios Douvikas extended Como's advantage in the 49th minute after receiving a well-timed pass from Paz.

Eight minutes later, Paz completed his brace by taking advantage of another defensive mistake from the visitors.

Jacobo Ramon increased the hosts' advantage in the 76th minute with a well-directed header, leaving Manchester United facing a humiliating defeat.

Joshua Zirkzee eventually scored a consolation goal in stoppage time after connecting with a delivery from Amad Diallo. However, the late effort did little to change the outcome as Como celebrated a convincing 4-1 victory.

Meanwhile, Arsenal demonstrated determination to earn a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in another entertaining European encounter.

The Gunners took the lead in the 26th minute when Eberechi Eze converted a brilliant pass from Martin Odegaard.

Bayern responded nine minutes later through Alphonso Davies, who finished an attacking move involving Harry Kane.

The German champions moved ahead in the 61st minute after Kane successfully converted a penalty awarded following Jurrien Timber's handball.

However, Arsenal refused to surrender and eventually restored parity in the 82nd minute when Declan Rice finished a move created by Viktor Gyokeres.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid strengthened their European campaign with an emphatic 4-1 triumph over RB Leipzig.

Bernardo Silva gave the Spanish giants the advantage shortly before halftime, while Arda Guler doubled their lead seven minutes after the restart.

Kylian Mbappe added Madrid's third goal in the 83rd minute with an excellent long-range strike.

Although Tidiam Gomis reduced the deficit for Leipzig, Yan Diomande quickly restored Madrid's three-goal cushion after converting Brahim Diaz's assist.

The contrasting results could prove important as the Champions League league phase progresses.

Real Madrid's victory earned them three valuable points, while Arsenal collected one point from their difficult encounter against Bayern Munich.

Manchester United, meanwhile, failed to add to their points tally following their heavy defeat in Italy.

With more fixtures approaching, all three clubs will be hoping to improve their positions and strengthen their chances of progressing to the knockout stages.
