Confirmed World Cup Final Fixture After Nigeria Defeated South American Giant 3-1

Nigeria's Flamingos have secured a place in the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, where they will meet Japan after both teams emerged victorious from their semi-final encounters in Morocco.

According to a report by ESPN on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the Nigerian side earned their final ticket with an impressive 3-1 triumph over Brazil, while Japan progressed after defeating defending champions DPR Korea in a penalty shootout.

The championship match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 7, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat, Morocco. Kick-off is set for 6:30 pm GMT, which is 7:30 pm Nigerian time.

Nigeria produced an outstanding display against Brazil, particularly in the second half of the encounter. Queen Joseph opened the scoring in the 56th minute, giving the Flamingos an important advantage.

Awawu Bashiru extended Nigeria's lead with a goal in the 71st minute before finding the net again nine minutes later to complete her brace and make it 3-0. Although Greise Kelly pulled one back for Brazil in the 89th minute, the Nigerian team maintained their advantage until the final whistle.

Japan, on the other hand, had to overcome a difficult challenge against DPR Korea. After conceding in the 52nd minute, the Japanese team managed to restore parity through a late own goal in the 90+5th minute. They subsequently demonstrated their composure by securing a 4-1 victory in the penalty shootout.

The upcoming final presents Nigeria with an opportunity to achieve a major milestone by winning their first FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup title. The Flamingos previously secured third place in the 2022 edition but have now reached the final for the first time in their history.

Japan will equally approach the encounter with determination as both nations prepare to compete for the prestigious trophy on Saturday.
