According to a report by Sky Sports on November 7, 2026, Arsenal have opened a six-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, putting added significance on their upcoming meeting at the Emirates Stadium on November 29.
Arsenal reached 27 points from 10 matches after beating Hull City 1-0. City remain on 21 points following a 3-1 defeat by Nottingham Forest, leaving Guardiola’s side needing a response.
Arsenal begin their next five league games away to Newcastle United on November 21. They then host City on November 29, a meeting that could influence the direction of the title race.
The leaders travel to Brentford on December 2 and Tottenham Hotspur on December 6 before returning to the Emirates Stadium to face Bournemouth on December 13.
City’s schedule opens with a home match against Fulham on November 21. Their trip to Arsenal follows eight days later, after which Leeds United visit the Etihad Stadium on December 2.
Guardiola’s team then travel to Brentford on December 5 before hosting Chelsea on December 12. The sequence gives City an immediate chance to recover ground, but it also includes two challenging away fixtures.
The Arsenal encounter stands out because the sides are separated by six points. A City victory in north London would reduce the gap, while another loss could make the leaders harder to catch. Arsenal, however, will see the match as an opportunity to increase their advantage.
Both clubs must also manage demanding away assignments. Arsenal face Newcastle, Brentford and Tottenham, while City must visit Arsenal and Brentford.
Arteta’s side have built their current lead through 10 league matches, but maintaining it will require consistency through a busy run. City, meanwhile, need to halt their slide.
The next five fixtures therefore present different priorities for the two clubs: Arsenal will aim to protect first place, while City seek to close the distance. Their meeting on November 29 is the standout date, but points dropped elsewhere could also shape the championship contest.
