UCL Table After Manchester United Lost 4:1 Barcelona Lost 4:2 And Arsenal Drew 2:2

According to a report by BBC Sports on Thursday, October 22, 2026, the UEFA Champions League league-phase standings have witnessed significant changes following a dramatic round of matches involving Manchester United, Barcelona and Arsenal.

Manchester United suffered a disappointing 4-1 defeat against Como, Barcelona lost 4-2 to Paris Saint-Germain, while Arsenal secured a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in Germany. These results have affected the positions of several clubs competing for places in the knockout stages of the 2026/2027 Champions League campaign.

Paris Saint-Germain remain among the leading contenders after their impressive victory over Barcelona.

The French champions continued their excellent start to the competition, scoring four goals against Hansi Flick's side to strengthen their position at the top of the standings. Liverpool also maintained their perfect record after defeating Villarreal 4-3, while Real Madrid recorded a convincing 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig.

Arsenal, meanwhile, earned a valuable point against Bayern Munich after Declan Rice scored a late equaliser to secure a 2-2 draw. The result kept the Gunners in a strong position as they continued their pursuit of automatic qualification for the round of 16.

Manchester United experienced one of the most disappointing results of the round. Michael Carrick's team lost 4-1 away to Como, suffering a setback that leaves them needing a strong response in their remaining league-phase matches.

Barcelona also have work to do after their defeat in Paris, although their earlier victories have helped them maintain a competitive position.

Under the new Champions League format, the eight highest-placed teams at the end of the league phase qualify directly for the round of 16. Teams finishing between ninth and 24th enter the knockout play-offs, while those in positions 25 to 36 are eliminated.

The latest standings after the third matchday place PSG at the summit with nine points, level on points with Aston Villa, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Real Betis. Stuttgart occupy sixth place with seven points, while Arsenal are seventh on the same total. Barcelona sit eighth with six points, and Como have climbed into ninth position following their victory over Manchester United.

Manchester City are also on six points, while Manchester United have dropped to 21st place with three points from their opening three matches. The Red Devils must improve their performances if they hope to climb into the top eight before the league phase concludes.

The Champions League campaign remains wide open, with several clubs separated by narrow points differences. The next round of fixtures will provide another opportunity for the leading teams to strengthen their positions and for struggling sides to revive their campaigns.
