Pedro Neto earns Premier League Team of the Month recognition alongside former Chelsea star Nicolas

According to a report by The Chelsea Chronicle on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, Pedro Neto has received recognition for his improved performances under Xabi Alonso after being named in the Premier League Team of the Month for October alongside former Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.

Both players were selected for Opta Analyst's Team of the Month, which is based on FotMob's player ratings.

Neto impressed in October, scoring two goals and providing one assist in four Premier League appearances.

Chelsea won three of their four league matches during the month, beating Bournemouth, Everton and Manchester United, with Tottenham handing them their only defeat.

Jackson also earned a place following his impressive start to life at Aston Villa. The Senegal international has scored five goals in eight Premier League appearances, including three in his last two matches.

His current tally means he has matched Joao Pedro's league goals for Chelsea this season, making his absence through injury particularly significant for Alonso.

With Pedro unavailable, Alonso has experimented with Neto and Morgan Rogers in attacking positions.

However, the Portuguese winger has looked more effective operating from the right wing-back position.

Neto has already scored three goals this season, compared with five in 34 appearances last campaign. His goals-per-90-minute rate has also increased from 0.17 to 0.40, according to FotMob.

However, his position could come under pressure when Pedro returns. Estevao Willian has also strengthened his claims for a regular starting place following his impressive display against Manchester United.

Alonso could eventually have to accommodate Estevao, Pedro, Rogers and Cole Palmer in his preferred attacking formation, potentially leaving Neto competing for a starting spot.

The October recognition underlines Neto's progress at Chelsea, although the return of injured players could make competition for places increasingly difficult.
