According to a report by London Evening Standard on Sunday November 1, 2026, Arsenal’s future signing Andria Bartishvili has reportedly suffered an ankle injury while playing for Georgian club Iberia 1999.

The 17-year-old forward was seen being helped off the pitch by medical personnel, raising concerns about his fitness ahead of his planned move to north London in July 2027.

Footage circulating on social media shows Bartishvili struggling to continue before receiving assistance from medical staff. He was wearing Iberia 1999’s red kit when the incident occurred. However, neither Arsenal nor his current club has released an official statement confirming the extent of the injury.

Bartishvili is currently on loan at Iberia 1999 from Kolkheti 1913. Arsenal announced in September that they had reached a pre-contract agreement to sign the youngster. The transfer is expected to be completed in July 2027, subject to regulatory requirements, when he turns 18.

The versatile Georgian attacker can operate as a winger or attacking midfielder. He developed through the Dinamo Tbilisi academy before establishing himself in senior football. His impressive performances earned him recognition as the best under-17 player in the Erovnuli Liga following his breakthrough campaign.

He also scored his first professional goal for Iberia earlier this year. His progress has extended to the international stage, where he has represented Georgia at several youth levels, including the under-21 team.

Arsenal’s recruitment department, including Maurizio Micheli, played a role in securing his signature despite competition from other clubs. His playing qualities have also drawn comparisons with fellow Georgian international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Bartishvili has gained valuable experience in European competitions this season, featuring for Iberia during their qualifying campaign and Conference League involvement.

The latest injury could disrupt his development and reduce his opportunities to gain competitive experience before joining Arsenal. Supporters will now await further information about his condition and expected recovery time.
