Abia State will host the 2026 National Division One and Two Volleyball League finals from November 12 to 22, with Umuahia set to welcome clubs competing for national honours in the men’s and women’s categories.

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation is organising the 11-day competition in collaboration with the Abia State Government, with matches scheduled to be held at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

The finals will bring together teams from across the country, providing the clubs with an opportunity to compete for the season’s honours and establish their positions within the domestic volleyball structure.

The hosting arrangement also represents another opportunity for Abia to strengthen its involvement in the development of the sport, with the state government supporting the federation in staging the championship.

The Division One and Two competitions form an important part of the domestic league structure, providing competitive platforms for clubs beyond the top tier and creating opportunities for players to test themselves against teams from other parts of the country.

The men’s and women’s categories are expected to feature prominently during the championship, which will run for 11 days.

The competition is also expected to draw attention to the development of volleyball at club level, particularly as the federation continues efforts to improve the organisation and visibility of its domestic competitions.

Further details on participating teams and match schedules are expected from the federation ahead of the opening matches.
