Bitrus Philemon scored a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Doma United a 2-2 draw with Ikorodu City in a Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 11 fixture at the Pantami Stadium on Saturday.
Ikorodu City looked on course for a first away win of the season after Ujunwa Elijah put them ahead in the 85th minute. They had gone behind early, but they came back strongly, and they appeared to have done enough to take all three points.
Philemon had given the hosts the lead from the penalty spot in the 19th minute.
Tomiwa Awojobi levelled five minutes later, and the game stayed balanced until Elijah struck late. Philemon then scored again deep into stoppage time to save his side.
The match was played behind closed doors and was the first meeting between the two clubs in the top flight. Both teams had drawn their Matchday 10 games, and neither could find a way to win.
The result leaves Doma United 10th on 15 points from 10 matches. Ikorodu City remain 11th on 14 points from 11 games, one point behind their hosts.
