SAMARAHAN: Samarahan FA will be out to secure a first-leg advantage when they host Bintulu FA in the Sarawak Premier Cup 2026 semi-final at Asajaya Sports Complex tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 24).
Last season’s runners-up are targeting a victory and a healthy goal advantage ahead of the return leg in Bintulu on October 31.
Coach Ideris Untong has urged his players to maintain discipline and stay focused throughout the match, warning them against underestimating their opponents despite playing on home ground.
“Although we are playing at home, we cannot underestimate Bintulu. We know they are a good team, and we hope to put in a good performance and win to give us an advantage for the return leg next week,” he told Sarawak Tribune when met today.
Ideris expects a challenging encounter, saying the semi-final would require his players to remain alert throughout the match.
He also likened the clash to a repeat of last season’s final, stressing that Samarahan were determined to avoid a repeat of their previous disappointment.
“It will be different, and I have reminded all the players to remain alert at all times. The match is like a repeat of last season’s final, and we do not want the same disappointment to happen again,” he said.
Ideris is expected to field his strongest available line-up as Samarahan look to make home advantage count against the Northern Zone champions.
He also called on supporters to turn up in numbers at Asajaya Sports Complex to cheer the team on as they seek a positive result before travelling to Bintulu for the second leg.
