KUCHING: Bintulu head coach, Farhan Abdullah Anai Igang admits his players face a tough challenge when they take on Samarahan in the first leg of the Sarawak Premier Cup 2026 semi-final at the Asajaya Sports Complex.
Despite last season’s success still fresh in their minds, Anai said past achievements would not necessarily reflect his team’s current form.
He expects Samarahan to capitalise on their home advantage and seek a convincing victory to take into the return leg.
“We will certainly go into the match with high fighting spirit as we look to stop the hosts from securing a victory.
“It may seem like an impossible task, but the players will give their best to achieve that,” Anai told Sarawak Tribune.
Anai is prepared to field his strongest starting line-up to cope with the pressure throughout the 90-minute encounter held tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 24).
He also urged his players to remain focused and carry out their responsibilities effectively.
Anai acknowledged that Samarahan are strong in every department, stressing that Bintulu must remain vigilant.
“I hope the players can make the most of the chances that come their way. I have also reminded them to avoid making unnecessary mistakes,” he added.
