Venezuela secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Zambia in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on Wednesday, scoring a decisive goal deep into stoppage time.

Zambia made a flying start, with E. Mofya opening the scoring in the 4th minute. Venezuela responded through A. Ojeda in the 12th minute to bring the score level at 1-1 before half-time.

The contest intensified after the break. G. Phiri restored Zambia’s lead in the 55th minute, putting her team in a strong position.

However, Venezuela refused to give up, and O. Duran equalized in the 64th minute.

Just when the match appeared to be heading towards a draw, A. Suarez struck in the 90+10th minute to seal a thrilling 3-2 win for Venezuela.

This result gives Venezuela a decisive boost in its campaign for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, while Zambia will regret conceding a goal in the very final moments of the match after having led twice.
