Slavia Prague coach Jindřich Trpišovský has praised Nigerian duo Emmanuel Ayaosi and Mubarak Suleiman after the young wingers played key roles in the club’s 5-0 whitewash of Jablonec at the weekend.
Suleiman opened the scoring in the 41st minute before Ayaosi doubled Slavia’s advantage shortly after the break.
Suleiman then completed his brace in the 75th minute, with Danijel Šturm adding a fifth goal five minutes later.
Speaking about Slavia’s decision to rely on a younger attacking line featuring foreign players, Trpišovský highlighted the qualities of the two Nigerians.
“They were great. Before the match, I told them that we had Nigerian wingers and that we would be dangerous. For their age, one is nineteen, the other is twenty-two, they are excellent. Ayaosi is great at manipulating the ball in a small space,” he told reporters.
The Slavia coach also stressed the importance of the team’s defensive work in allowing the attacking players to perform with confidence.
“Of course, the team helps them, the solid defense gives the offensive players confidence and puts them in good positions,” he added.
Trpišovský also explained how he adjusted the formation to maximise Suleiman’s movement and strengthen Slavia’s right side.
“Our formation didn’t work out. We needed Mubarak more up top because of his runs, and we reinforced the right side with Vlčák. It worked out great for us,” he revealed.
The Nigerian duo have made a strong contribution to Slavia Prague’s attack this season, with Ayaosi recording five goals and three assists in all competitions, while Suleiman has three goals and two assists.
