Arsenal face a major selection challenge after Bukayo Saka suffered an injury against Bayern Munich, forcing Mikel Arteta to reconsider his attacking options.
Despite losing their influential winger early, the Gunners secured a 2-2 Champions League draw, with Eberechi Eze scoring and Declan Rice equalising.
Saka has been among Arsenal’s most productive attackers this season, leading the team for goals and shots on target per ninety minutes.
His absence comes at an unfortunate time, with the club already short of attacking depth following several departures during the summer transfer window.
Noni Madueke appears the most obvious replacement, having impressed against Bayern with his dribbling, passing and ability to trouble defenders.
Eze could also operate on the opposite flank, having demonstrated his attacking threat with another Champions League goal against Bayern, reports footballfancast.
However, Madueke’s inconsistent performances mean Arsenal supporters may prefer an alternative capable of delivering greater reliability in Saka’s position.
Sixteen-year-old Max Dowman represents an exciting alternative, with his technical ability and confident dribbling drawing comparisons to established Arsenal attacking talents.
However, Saka’s absence could create the opportunity Dowman needs to establish himself.
Madueke remains the safer immediate choice, but promoting Dowman could give Arsenal an exciting solution while their influential winger recovers.
