FC Akhmat head coach Stanislav Cherchesov faced direct questions about his future after a 2-0 defeat to FC Dynamo Moscow on Saturday, October 31, admitting that managers must bear the responsibility for a winless run that has stretched to five matches in the Russian Premier League (RPL). RIA Novosti reported that chants calling for the manager’s dismissal were heard as the Grozny club slipped to 14th place in the league table.

Defeat at Dynamo Moscow Deepens Akhmat Slump

Saturday’s fixture in Moscow compounded a dismal stretch for Akhmat, which has now dropped six of its last seven matches across all competitions. The 2-0 loss leaves the team with 11 points after 13 matches played in the domestic campaign.

The team’s inability to secure a victory in five consecutive league outings has turned the spotlight squarely on the head coach. Following the final whistle, sections of supporters made their frustrations clear with chants calling for his dismissal.

Cherchesov Addresses Pressure and Immediate Plans

Speaking to journalists after the match, Cherchesov declined to offer an immediate decision regarding his resignation, emphasizing the need for rest and objective evaluation before any formal discussions take place.

“Ближайшее будущее мы обсудим. Не знаю, откуда вы взяли информацию об отставке, может, сами придумали. Не знаю, кто что пишет,” Cherchesov said.

At the same time, the coach acknowledged the standard burdens of his profession when results fail to materialize. RIA Novosti quoted Cherchesov addressing the structural reality of the club’s current form:

“Другое дело, когда нет побед, вопросы к главному тренеру есть. Выигрывает команда, проигрывает тренер. Когда команда проигрывает, отвечать должен тренер. Когда это есть, вопрос, как с этим справляться, как мотивировать команду. Вроде мотивируем, но до конца не получается осуществить задуманное”

League Standing and What Lies Ahead

Akhmat enters the schedule under intense scrutiny. With 11 points through 13 rounds, the 14th-place side faces narrow margins to escape the lower reaches of the RPL standings.

The future will be discussed following a period of analysis.
