Masters reunite Bullets

Former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets personnel, now at Masters FC, will face their former employers this afternoon when the two sides meet in an FDH Bank Premiership match at Bingu National Stadium.

Bullets are currently leading the standings with 39 points from 18 games, while Masters are 5th with 26 points.

A win for Masters can only cement their current position, while the league leaders can extend their lead with 6 points, as Mighty Wanderers are second with 36 points.

Masters will rely on Hastings Ndau, who is currently leading the team’s top goal scorer’s chart with three goals.

Bullets will depend on Ephraim Kondowe, who is leading the top goalscorer’s chart for the league with 10 goals, tied with Blue Eagles’ Tonic Viyuyi.

One of the biggest talking points is that Masters has recruited 12 players, including Hassan Kajoke and Mike Mkwate, and three officials like Kelvin Moyo the Chief Executive Officer, Peter Mponda as the Head Coach and Victor Mphande as the Goalkeeper’s trainer.

Mponda, who is Bullets’ immediate former coach, said the team knows that their opponents have been in a stellar form, but will approach the game with an attacking intent.

“We need to collect points. Three points will be massive for us,” he said.

“We know what to do,” Mponda

“Yes we know we are playing against Bullets who are leading the league, their current form has been very good but earlier I said we are playing at home and we need to play an attacking game,” Mponda said.

On the other hand, Coach for Bullets, Wedson Nyirenda, said the game will not be easy.

“Every game for Nyasa is a final. Seeing my team and what they are doing, getting victories even it is so difficult, it shows it is a championship material team,” Nyirenda said in a press briefing.

“This week is another fixture that will be tricky playing Masters at their own backyard. So we have done our homework,” the coach said.

Historically, Bullets have enjoyed the upper hand over Masters, winning four of their eight league meetings, while three encounters have ended in draws and Masters have claimed one victory.

In their previous game in the first-round on June 29, 2026, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets defeated Masters FC 1–0 at the Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.

Bullets broke the deadlock in the 54th minute.

Bullets will go into the game without Chrispin Mapemba, who is recovering from a knee injury, while Masters will not have Isaac Phiri who was given a red card in their last game.
