The Nigeria Football Federation has named Prince Sunday Udofia as coordinator of the men’s U23 national side, the Olympic Eagles.
Udofia previously held the same type of role with Nigeria’s U17 team, the Golden Eaglets. He was part of the setup when the side retained the FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile in 2015.
The federation has also appointed prominent journalist Niyi Busari, owner of online platform BSN Sports, as media officer for the U23 squad.
Udofia and Busari will link up with the team when camp reopens in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday, 25 October. Preparations are being stepped up for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The first match is scheduled for Friday, 13 November, at TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi. Nigeria will host the second leg four days later at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo.
