NFL fans have brutally called for Al Michaels to quit after botching a fumble call.
The legendary commentator, 81, was in the booth as the Green Bay Packers notched a 27-19 win over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football.
But Michaels made a glaring mistake just seconds into the NFL showdown at Lambeau Field.
The Amazon Prime Video broadcaster did not notice a fumble on the opening kickoff.
Packers wide receiver Coleman Owen had the ball punched out of his hand at the 25-yard line.
And there was a noticeable pause before Michaels saw the Panthers had taken possession.
NFL fans raced onto social media to ruthlessly urge the iconic sportscaster to retire.
One said: “It’s time for bro to hang up the microphone.”
Another added: “Al Michaels needs to go.”
A third raged: “It took Al Michaels over an hour to notice that it was a fumble on the opening kickoff. Sleeping on the call.”

A fourth ruthlessly chimed in: “F*** is he looking at?”
And a fifth noted: “Packers fumbled on the first play of the game. Al Michaels didn’t even realize.”
The mistake came after he also made an error during the Chicago Bears’ win over the New England Patriots last week.
Corey Kiner found a way past linebacker D’Marco Jackson before crashing into Kentavius Street following a hand-off from Drake Maye.
Michaels then claimed the ball had come loose when players from both teams crowded around the Patriots’ running back.
But there had not been a fumble during the first quarter incident – leading to an awkward backtrack.
