Inter Milan returned to winning ways in the Champions League with a 3-0 victory over Feyenoord, with England full-back Djed Spence playing a key role in the away triumph at Stadion Feijenoord.
The Italian champions needed a response after suffering a 3-1 defeat against city rivals AC Milan in Serie A, and they delivered an improved performance to strengthen their position in the European competition.
Spence set the tone early, providing the assist for Yann Bisseck to open the scoring in the eighth minute.
The defender found space on the edge of the penalty area before curling a superb finish beyond the Feyenoord goalkeeper.
Inter extended their advantage six minutes before half-time when Pio Esposito reacted quickest to Spence's deflected effort and headed the ball into the net from close range.
Piotr Zielinski then put the result beyond doubt with a composed finish.
The Poland international moved across the Feyenoord penalty area before bending an excellent strike past Tjark Ernst to complete the scoring.
Esposito appeared to have added another goal when he converted from close range, but the effort was disallowed for offside.
The result provided a timely boost for Inter, who had collected only three points from their opening three Champions League matches before facing the Dutch side.
Spence joined Inter from Tottenham in August and has continued his career in Italy following his involvement in England's run to the World Cup semi-finals.
Inter occupy 14th place in the league phase standings with six points, while Feyenoord sit 30th on three points after four matches, leaving the Dutch outfit facing a difficult task in their bid to reach the play-offs.
Feyenoord will host Porto on Tuesday, 24 November, before Inter welcome Stuttgart the following day.
