Arsenal Fight Back to Earn Thrilling 2-2 Draw Against Bayern Munich

BAYERN MUNICH, Germany, October 21, 2026 — Arsenal came from behind to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, with Declan Rice scoring a late equaliser to earn the visitors a valuable point.

According to match reports from RTE and Goal.com, the result extended Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the 2026/27 Champions League campaign, following victories over Napoli and Lille. The encounter featured four goals, a penalty and several important saves by both goalkeepers.

Arsenal took the lead in the 25th minute when Eberechi Eze finished after receiving a pass from Martin Ødegaard. Bayern responded ten minutes later through Alphonso Davies, who scored after a move initiated by Harry Kane to level the contest at 1-1.

The hosts took the lead in the 61st minute when Kane converted a penalty awarded after Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber handled the ball, according to RTE’s match report.

Arsenal continued pressing for an equaliser and were rewarded in the 82nd minute. Rice struck a low effort past Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer after combining with substitute Viktor Gyökeres, restoring parity and denying the German side a home victory. [1] [2]

The match also brought concern for Arsenal after winger Bukayo Saka went off injured early in the first half. His condition and the length of any potential absence were not confirmed in the reports reviewed.

The draw leaves Arsenal with seven points from three league-phase matches, while Bayern have five points from their opening three fixtures, according to published match coverage.

The result gives Arsenal another positive outcome in a challenging European away fixture, while Bayern will look to turn their attacking opportunities into victories in their upcoming Champions League matches.

Both sides now turn their attention to the next stage of the league phase, with the standings remaining important as clubs compete for qualification to the knockout rounds. Source https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1QtjCMyG3R/
