KCA University Takes a Dig at Man United Fans, Advises Students to Protect Their Peace

KCA University has sparked amusement among football fans after issuing a humorous warning to students supporting Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea, joking that following the English clubs could cost them their peace of mind.

In a notice dated Wednesday, October 21, the institution appeared to caution students against adding football-related frustration to the pressures of university life, with Manchester United supporters receiving particularly harsh treatment.

The advisory, titled “Supporting Manchester United & Wearing Their Jersey”, highlighted the emotional strain that fans could experience after disappointing performances, especially when they have to return to lectures and assignments at the beginning of a new week.

The notice suggested that students already had enough challenges to deal with without allowing their favourite football teams to interfere with their happiness.

“Adding Manchester United to the list is highly discouraged!” the memo stated, using a laughing emoji to reinforce its playful message.

The university's humorous take also referenced the demands of campus life, including Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs), assignments, graduation clearance and approaching deadlines.

According to the notice, students should avoid unnecessary emotional distress and concentrate on their academic responsibilities rather than allowing the fortunes of their football clubs to determine their moods.

The message also encouraged students to support KCA University's own sporting teams, cheekily suggesting that they had a better record than the struggling Premier League side.

“Let’s support our university teams… they perform better than Man U!” the notice read.

It further encouraged students to prioritise their well-being, peace of mind and academic success, ending with the playful slogan: “Choose joy. Choose KCAU. Choose what works!”

However, the document identified its sender as the “Office of the University (Unofficial)”. It should therefore not be interpreted as a formal directive issued by the university's official administration without further confirmation.

The advisory nevertheless offered a humorous take on the frustrations football supporters experience when their teams struggle, turning Manchester United's difficulties into a campus joke.

Arsenal and Chelsea were also mentioned in the headline accompanying the report, although Manchester United received most of the attention in the quoted advisory.

The joke came amid growing scrutiny of Manchester United following a reported 4-1 Champions League defeat to Italian side Como on Wednesday, October 21.

The result intensified criticism of the team's performance, with captain Bruno Fernandes questioning the tactical approach used against their opponents.

Fernandes expressed concern about the decision not to apply consistent man-to-man pressure, arguing that allowing opponents time and space on the ball could give them confidence and make it harder for United to recover.

He also pointed to the team's slow start and the impact of conceding an early goal, saying the players struggled to respond effectively after falling behind.

The Portuguese midfielder's comments added to the pressure surrounding the club, with questions being raised about its tactical decisions and ability to recover from disappointing performances.

Defender Lisandro Martinez had also reportedly criticised aspects of the club's recruitment strategy and leadership decisions following a 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid the previous week.

The latest criticism placed further attention on the challenges facing the team, particularly whether tactical disagreements and inconsistent performances could undermine its efforts to improve.

Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick also expressed dissatisfaction with the team's display against Como, acknowledging that the performance had fallen below the standards expected at the club.

Carrick said the manner in which some players approached the match was unacceptable and sympathised with supporters who had watched the defeat.

He argued that tactics alone could not explain the team's difficulties, stressing that players had to work harder both when pressing opponents and when tracking back to defend.

His remarks suggested that United needed greater commitment and intensity in addition to addressing questions surrounding its tactical approach.

The defeat and the subsequent criticism provided the backdrop for the humorous university advisory, which used the club's struggles to remind students not to let football disappointments overshadow their academic lives.

For Manchester United supporters at KCA University, the message was clear in its humour: university deadlines may be stressful enough, and a disappointing result from their favourite team could make the week even harder.

Despite the joke, the notice's unofficial designation means its comments should be understood as a light-hearted advisory rather than an established university policy.
